Van Rijt Top Team - Team Event BBQ 2024

If you work hard on the mat, you must celebrate from time to time. So members of Van Rijt Top Team gathered together before the sumer break and had a small team event with a BBQ in Uster. It was a great evening - thank you so much for coming and celebrating with me.

1 Gold and 1 Bronze at Thailand Open Grandprix 2024

I flew to Thailand in June with two athletes to take part in the Grand Prix. Sina Staub (-52 kg) and Jeannine Villiger (-57 kg) won precious medals with their great performance. I am proud of both of them and that they were able to bring home 1 Gold and 1 bronze medal for Switzerland. The Gorld Medal from Sina is the First Gold medal in Fighting System for Switzerland in a Grand prix Tournament.

As a coach, you have to keep an eye on everything and prepare the athletes optimally for the competition.

When the evening comes to an end after the course and a great report is broadcast on German television, then I am happy about the publicity for our sport.

Thank you to Roland Abé for this fantastic organization and your tireless efforts to put on courses and involve your countless press contacts.

Bronze at Grand Prix in Paris for Sina Staub

Paris. Sina Staub once again won a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in France - this time in her new weight class of -52 kg. She had already returned to Switzerland last year with a precious metal in the flyweight -48 kg category.

To master another difficult and high-caliber tournament and reach the podium in a higher weight class is fantastic.

In the semi-final, Sina faced the reigning world champion and was leading 12:11 until 10 seconds before the end of the fight. In a fast sport like Ju-Jitsu, even 10 seconds is a long time and a lot can still happen. So Sina had to concede defeat to the Ukrainian athlete at the final bell with only one point lower score (12/13).

Sina, I am proud of your performance! The World Championships can come!

Great successes for young Ju-Jitsu talents at the Zurich Open

My protégés from the Judo Club Uster achieved great results at the Ju-Jtisu Zurich Open. Almost all of them made their debut and went home with a medal. Only the Dutch fighter Casper van Rijn is an experienced fighter and won the gold medal for Club Uster. With 2x silver and 3x bronze, 6 fighters took home 6 medals. I am proud of my young athletes.

Combat Camp Sweden 2023

The first training camp of the year was completed. I traveled to Sweden right at the beginning of the year, not only to hold training sessions for an international audience, but also to coach some of my Ju-Jitsu athletes there.

The competition training camp in Sweden was a great success. It was great to see so many good fighters on the tatami with so much joy and big smiles. Everyone had fun doing what they love to do. Sweating together, training techniques and competing in randori. I would like to thank all the organizers, fellow coaches and all the athletes for their commitment.
