Visiting the ISPO 2022 in München

After a two-year break, the world's largest sports trade fair (ISPO) is back. Although significantly smaller than before, it is clear that the last three years have not left the companies unscathed. It was therefore all the more pleasing that it was not only possible to have a lively exchange with suppliers and fellow trainers, but also to gather inspiration. Which products can take us forward in martial arts? What new products can be launched to make training more effective for our athletes? There were exciting topics on offer at ISPO. This time I was accompanied by Dennis Buttler (author of the specialist book Budo Spiele), because four eyes see more than two. And so we brought back some new training ideas for you. Be it for the mat or Dennis for his follow-up volumes Budo Spiele.

Training with Frank Wieneke and Leo Held

Once again, I was able to learn from and train with other great trainers. This time I went to Frank Wieneke and Leo Held. Frank was not only a two-time finalist at the Olympic Games and won the Olympic title once, he was also a successful national coach for Germany and led Ole Bischof to Olympic victory in Beijing 2008. Leo Held was also a national coach - but for Switzerland and won bronze at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with Sergei Aschwanden, among others.

The seminar was really well organized and I had a lot of fun with such great athletes, fellow coaches and great people. I hope to see you again soon on or off the mat.

Promotion to 7th. Dan in Jiu-Jitsu by the JJIF

At the General Assembly of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) during the World Championships in Abu Dhabi, I received a great honor. I was awarded the 7th Dan for my services and achievements in our sport.

Those were special moments that I was able to experience there with the laudation and the many friends from all over the world.

Many thanks to all my companions over the last few years and the honor of the 7th Dan in Jiu-Jitsu.
